                                            In july2021,he invest in AKASA AIR,a low cost airline in india,investing US$400 million for a 40% stake in the airline.as of february2024,the new airline has 24 aircraft and files to 19cities.Rakesh had increasedhis stake in the airline to 46%becoming the largest stakeholder in the company prior to his death.airline first flight between Mumbai and Ahmedabad on 7 August.

DEATH

          On 14 august 2022, jhunjhunwala was rushed BREACH CANDY HOSPITAL  in Mumbai,and died at approximetely 6:30 a.m .Doctors later reportedthat he suffered from kidney-related problems  and acute muliple organ failure.INDIAN PRIME MINISTER NARENDRAMODI SHARED his condolences stating ,"rakesh jhunjhunwala was indomatible.his passing away is saddening for the finacial world."

          Rakesh jhunjhunwala married Rekha jhunjhunwala on 22 february 1987. the couple had three children. Their daughter NISHATHA was born on 30 june 2004, their  TWIN sons Aryaman &Aryaveer were bornon 2 march 2009
